Upcoming events for Saturday, January 21:

• Warhammer 40K Contest of Champions – The 40K tournament season starts anew!  1250 points, 3 rounds, and we are all full up.  For those of you who are signed up, registration is open from 9 to 10am, with the first round starting at 10:30.  If you are not already signed up, you may still be able to get in – we have a cap of 90 players but are working to get as many as we can possibly fit, so get your name on the standby list.  For more information and discussion, visit our forums.

Upcoming events for Sunday, January 22:

• Battletech at 1pm, no cost.  Everyone is welcome, from the greenest newbie to the most elite veteran.
• Yu-Gi-Oh! Tournament, $5 entry at 1pm.  Get your hands on the new Order of Chaos set and Turbo Pack 7!

This isn’t a weekend event, but I thought we’d list it anyway – the Heroclix Infinity Gauntlet campaign starts Monday, January 30 at 6pm.  You must be signed up on the Heroclix Event site to take part in this epic event, so don’t forget!

Upcoming events for Saturday, January 21:

• Warhammer Fantasy Team Tournament – Storm of Magic edition! Registration opens at 9am, first game at 10:30.  2000 points plus an additional 500 points for Storm of Magic goodies.  $10 per player for pre-registration, or $12 per player the day of the tournament.  We still have some monsters available for rent from the Great Escape Royal Zoo, inquire on the forums for more information!

Upcoming events for Sunday, January 22:

• Paint class - starting at noon, no cost to join!  We’ll be going over the basics to start with – priming, base coating, getting that model on a base – and branching out from there.  If you need help with highlights, shading, color selection, or anything else, this is the time and place!
• Yu-Gi-Oh! Tournament at 1pm, $5 entry.
• Battletech at 1pm, no cost!

• Great Escape LAN Party – The Great Escape LAN is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing awesome, fun, and friendly gaming among friends and family. All money and proceeds made from the event will be donated to charity (United Way of Sacramento) to help support our community and those in need.  This one will be even bigger than the last one!  For more information, visit our forums or head over to the Great Escape LAN homepage.

Upcoming events for Sunday, January 15:

• Day 2 of the Great Escape LAN Party – More gaming madness!  More fun!  More gamers that have been up all night and look like zombies!  The back room will be full, but we still have private gaming rooms available for rent,
• Yu-Gi-Oh! Tournament at 1pm, $5 entry.

Comp, sports, and paint criteria for the 2012 40K CoC Season is posted. We’ve redesigned our website a bit to make things easier to find, so look at the top and click on the button marked Contest of Champions to take you to the CoC home page, listing all the general rules and dates. Then, you can either use the dropdown menu on the Contest of Champions button or follow the links at the top of that page to find other pages related to the 40K and WFB CoC.

The first 40K CoC of the year is on Saturday, January 28th. It is 1250 points, and costs $15 to preregister. If you can’t make it in, we can take your registration over the phone using a credit card. Entry on the day of the tournament is $20, so we encourage everyone to sign up ahead of time!

The first WFB CoC is on February 25th, and will be 2000 points. Comp for WFB will be posted soon!
