- Is the army fully painted to a Grand Tournament standard? 3+ colors on every model, primer / undercoat not included.
- Are all the models based nicely? Beyond a simple layer of paint or unpainted flock.
- Does the entire basing for the army match? Or is the army presented with a display board which ties the entire army together?
- Does the army have insignia or something visual differentiating unit designation? Hand painted shoulder pads, numbered units, unit themes? (FOR FANTASY CHANGE THIS TO “Does the army have a display board that is appropriate to the army, is appealing, and themed?”)
- Does the army look like a cohesive force? Is the army visually representative of the force being played by way of theme, color or painting style?
- Do the character models and or center pieces standout from the rest of the army?
- Are the model details fully picked out and painted? Eyes, gun holsters, banners, knives, blisters, buckles, laces, spikes etc….
- Was care taken in the assembly of the models? Minimum mold lines (less the 20%), clean gluing, pieces line up per model expectation.
- Does the army have noticeable conversions including hand sculpted pieces, cloaks, weapons, body parts?
- Was the army painted to an above average GT level event standard? Clean washes, additional highlights, color blends, creative modeling techniques used to showcase center pieces and HQ selections? Hand painted banners, detailed symbols or glyphs, true conversions beyond simple weapon swap outs?
